Welcome To Fort Caswell
Tucked away on the eastern tip of Oak Island, the North Carolina Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell occupies the site of a former Civil War fort. Since 1949, when the Baptist State Convention bought the property from the federal government, Caswell has been an instrument of peace, offering NC Baptists and others a place of quiet reflection and relaxation. We invite you to come and visit us here at Caswell, and discover the peace and beauty that thousands of others have enjoyed.

Exciting Times!

The new Church Group Cottage of The Village at Fort Caswell is ready for the first church group to check in this week. It is a very exciting time and many of you have been tracking the progress on our Facebook page. This is good news for some very happy campers and chaperones that otherwise would not have been able to benefit from a week at camp.
We have not asked for donations for construction but some have been gracious in offering to make gifts. Any contribution given now will assist us in continuing the project to add the additional four cottages to The Village. These cottages are essential if Caswell is to continue to meet our guests' needs and expectations. Caswell is truly a unique and special place.
Every gift of any amount is important and will be very much appreciated. In order to provide an opportunity for you to honor a family member or other special person, we've set gift amounts to place a plaque on one of the bedroom doors acknowledging the person you wish to honor. If you wish to honor a family member or other special person we need to hear from you as soon as possible. There are still bedrooms to be named. If you prefer, pledges may be paid over a five year period with an initial gift of 20% of the total amount.
If you wish to help with this project we would love to hear from you. If you have any questions, please feel free to write, call, or email. A list of available opportunities is attached.
The following are available to be named:
• Chaperone mini-suite with two double beds, kitchenette, bath, and balcony - $15,000 Gift
• One Chaperone Room with two double beds, bath and balcony - $10,000 Gift
• Two Chaperone Rooms with two double beds and private baths - $7,500 Gift
• Bedrooms with 5 bunks each and private baths - $5,000 Gift
If you would like to discuss including Caswell in your estate plans, please contact the NC Baptist Foundation in Cary. It's a wonderful way to ensure this vital ministry and resource can continue to help the next generation of Caswell Campers, Summer Staff, and all guests who enjoy this special coastal retreat.

Dr. Dewey Hobbs
” A question we ask ourselves from time to time concerns our purpose for being. What was I meant to do? How was I meant to serve? Has my life meant anything? Possibly we come to the realization that we have these questions of our own life because we see individuals whose life has been so significant and their impact has been so profound that we compare our existence to their gift to us. Comparisons are inevitable but fruitless. It’s not how we measure up to others but how we live out our own unique purpose for which we were created.” Anonymous
