Exploring Southern Coastal Culture through Music and Literature

Take an historical journey through early southern culture by way of music and literature. Nationally recognized folk musician Anne Lough weaves the threads of English, Scots-Irish and African culture, preserved and cultivated in a rich tapestry of music. Gullah-Geechee history and culture come to life through a series of lectures and an afternoon with Aunt Perlie Sue. Discover life as an early settler in the Cape Fear region through local historian and sea captain Bert Felton, all wrapped up in this week long adventure.
