Our staff is committed to helping you have a successful retreat or conference.  We can help you arrange for meeting space and answer questions about any of the following services on our campus.

 

Auditorium and Meeting Facilities

The Assembly offers a variety of meeting spaces including: 

·24 classrooms with capacity of up to 30

·4 classrooms with capacity of up to 60

·4 classrooms with capacity of up to 150

·Sherrill Chapel with capacity of up to 200

·Hatch Auditorium for groups of 300-1,000

 

Audiovisual equipment is available for meeting rooms when requested in advance.  A setup fee will be charged for room arrangements other than basic tables and chairs and for last minute changes.  Call for information.

 

Guest Assistance

The Assembly’s Guest Services Team is dedicated to meeting the needs of overnight guests at the Assembly during evening hours when the administrative offices are closed.  Upon check-in you will receive an information sheet.  This will include phone numbers and how to reach the Guest Services Team if the need arises.

 

Gifts & Concessions

The Assembly operates the PX where guests may purchase Christian literature, gifts, souvenirs, snacks, and health and beauty aids.

 

The Drift-Inn.com, a coffee house and game room, provides a place for relaxation and fellowship.  To inquire about availability of this multipurpose room for groups in the fall and spring, please call.

 

Marina**

Offers boat ramp, boat slips and direct access to Cape Fear and Elizabeth Rivers (and from there to the Intracoastal Waterway or the Atlantic Ocean).

Overnight guests may dock their boats in the Assembly’s boat basin for $5.00.  Day guests may dock their boats for $15.00 per day.  Electric and water hookups are available for an additional $5.00 per day.

 

Camping

The Assembly does not have facilities for tent camping, travel trailers, or motor homes.

 

Telephones

A pay telephone is located near Sherrill Chapel.

 

Lost and Found

A lost and found department is located at the Assembly’s main office.  All items must be claimed within 30 days.

 

Food Services

Start off your day with great food and fellowship with friends new and old in our comfortable dining facilities.  In order to best service our guests’ needs we provide two dining facilities on campus.  The large cafeteria serves 300-1,000 guests.  The Conference Center café services 25-300 guests.  Meal times are…        

            7:30 Breakfast,

            12:00 Lunch,

            5:30 Supper

Please plan your programs with meal times in mind.  The Assembly reserves the right to decide meal locations and to stagger large groups’ schedules within the designated meal times.

 

Dietary Needs

We will accommodate groups with special dietary needs and/or menus.  The Assembly must receive requests no later than 3 weeks prior to your event.  There may be an additional fee for some menus.

 

Banquets and Special Occasions

The Assembly can provide your group with a special menu for your banquet needs.  The Assembly must receive your special menu requests no later than 3 weeks prior to your retreat.  You may call and speak to Guest Services with any questions or for help in planning your banquet.  Table linens can be provided for an additional fee if requests are made in advance.

 

Recreation

Fort Caswell (Civil War Fort) and the adjacent batteries (World War I era) are available for our guests to explore.  Guests may enjoy them at their own risk during the daylight hours only and children must be supervised.

 

Guests enjoy watching ships entering and leaving the Cape Fear River on this active shipping channel into the ports at Wilmington and Sunny Point Military Ocean Terminal.  The busy river is therefore not a safe swimming area.  The mile of secluded beach has a designated safe swimming area with a boardwalk to cross the dunes.  The beach has lifeguards only during the summer months.  All other months are swim at your own risk.  Great shelling, bird watching, and beach walking are all within sight of the Oak Island Lighthouse.

First Aid

Guests may obtain medical care through local medical facilities.  Guests needing medical assistance are asked to contact Assembly staff at the office or gate before seeking medical help.

 

Kayaks**

May be available for groups in the late spring and early fall based on availability and weather conditions.

 

Initiative Course**  Promotes effective interpersonal and team related skills, aids in developing Christian leadership skills and strengthens the ministry of both individuals and groups.  This is an additional cost service and must be scheduled two weeks prior to your visit.

 

Swimming Pool

Open from mid May through mid September weather permitting.

 

Beach Swimming

Our beach has lifeguards only during the summer months, unless arrangements are made with your reservations**.
